The Expression Structure of Japanese and Chinese Languages
The Emergence of Discrepancy in Translation for Japanese and Chinese

Whether it is Japanese-Chinese or Chinese-Japanese translation, there is a subtle difference in nuance between the two languages, thus results an inconsistent shade of meaning after translation. This thesis compares the language difference between Japanese and Chinese and their unique characteristics; then, analyzes the relation of the mistranslation and those lifestyle-related morality, culture and tradition. This thesis also emphasizes that in order to translate these two languages perfectly, it is crucial to understand not only the linguistic discrepancy between them but also the different cultural background of the two countries.
