The Significance of First Year Experience(FYE)in the Junior College Educational System

This paper suggests the significance of students’ first year experience at a junior college in their successful transition into society after two years. We designed a short-term intensive program or “unit” which aims to provide consistent career education from the first year through graduation, in keeping with students’ career paths. To support job placement, this program includes comprehensive lessons providing an environment that enables students to increase motivation to work, learn how to give a good job interview, and so on. Finally, this study suggests students’ use of web resources should be further explored.
